Stop and Smell the Flowers

Hey, guys!

Sorry the comic’s a few days late.  It’s been a busy week and it’s only going to get busier.  I’m going to do my best to make sure the comic is updated twice a week while I’m writing my NaNoWriMo story, but as this week would hint at, this might be a bit more difficult that I originally thought.  I’ve got the next four strips plotted and ready to draw, so here’s hoping I get some time.

Maybe I’ll take a day and try and do up a bunch to buffer.  I should have done this before November 1st, but I decided to do the NaNo story pretty much last-minute.

Well, either way, there will be regular updates on the comic so stay tuned!

Oh, by the way, the game Ray and Shaun are playing in the second panel is a nondescript MMO.  It’s not anything specific, just a generic fantasy game.  I’m sure I’ll work some more recognizable games in at a later date, but I didn’t have anything specific in mind for this joke.  Just Ray being mauled to death by wolves while Shaun was off admiring the textures.

As a quick note, the first time Shaun logged in to a more popular game, I jumped in with my Paladin of a fairly high level to help him get a handle on the game without fear of dying a lot.  He had a quest that took him to another town and I decided to lead him there.  I was about half-way when I noticed in my chat box a call for help and stopped to ask where he was since he was suddenly nowhere on my minimap.  It turned out that he had been following me and had spotted something he thought was cool and decided to take a closer look without informing me; leaving me to continue running pointlessly to the next town.  This proved to be a bad idea as a single low-level dwarf is a tasty morsel for any passing mobs.  By the time I found where he was, he had already resurrected at the nearest graveyard.
