Okay, so I’m taking a quick break from the guys to bring you an Uncharted comic.
I’ve been a HUGE fan of the Uncharted series since the first one (it was the reason I purchased a PS3) and, from the first time I heard Nathan Drake drop a one-liner–voiced by the always awesome, Nolan North–he jumped to the top of my list of favorite protagonists. He’s the quick-witted lovechild of Dr. Jones and Ms. Croft. He represents everything cool about action heroes and does it with a sense of dedication to his craft and a wicked loyalty to the friends he picks up along the way.
Uncharted 3 is, thus far, the best of the series for me. It’s chocked full of everything that has made me fall in love with the series from the start and then adds a few things here and there. And the story…oh, man, the story… I won’t ruin anything here for anyone who hasn’t played it, but rest assured I have nothing but admiration for the writing team.
Now, all the awesome aside, there is one thing that has always bothered me about these games and it’s the fact that Drake seems to be made of far tougher stuff than any human on the planet. Every time I barely make a jump and he slams into a ledge or metal deck plate, I cringe and can almost hear the sound of bones being turned to dust. On top of that, the third installment has more weak floors, poorly placed skylights, and walls that are nowhere near structurally sound…and Drake manages to fall or be tossed through all of them.
I’m just wondering what sort of deductible the Adventure’s Coverage plan from All State has… Cause this motherfucker is in some damn good hands!
