By now you’ve all heard as much as there is to hear about Bay and Co’s claim that their turtles will be from “an alien race.”  As a life-long fan of the Heroes in a Halfshell (even now I have a hard time not following that with “Turtle power!”) and, well, 90% of their various incarnations, I must admit that my initial response was one of great disappointment.  But, the more I thought about it, the more that disappointment feels like plain ol’ confusion.  I just can’t fathom what it is Bay intends to do with this movie.  Nothing I come up with makes any sense without utterly destroying the origin we’ve all come to know and love.  For starters, how does he plan on explaining their names?  Or their personalities?  And then there’s Splinter to think about…I mean, are their Ratliens, too?!  Ratliens who know ninjitsu?

The whole thing is mentally exhausting, really.

So, I came up with my own theory…which, in the context of the strip’s continuity, made more sense coming from Shaun.  Either way, I think it’s damned funny.  How ’bout you guys?
