I’ve spent some time recently with FunCom’s newest MMO, The Secret World and, while I am in love with the “real world” setting, the storytelling, and the classless combat system, there are some…issues with the game’s overall world. My biggest concern is that the rest of the world’s inhabitants outside of the three factions are supposed to be completely oblivious to the “Secret World” and it’s “Secret War” against the forces of darkness. Okay, I can buy that. What I can’t get past is the fact that my character has two fully-automatic weapons attached to his hips and a big ass book that glows with this blood aura on his back and he’s able to parade around the streets of New York, London, and Seoul without the authorities so much as batting an eye.

Not one cop has so much as asked to see a permit!

Meh…much to their continued survival, I suppose.
