Wars No More

It’s a damn shame, really. If you don’t count the Original Trilogy then The Clone Wars was five seasons of the best Star Wars you could watch on screen. From the gorgeous painterly art style to the unabashed brutality of the battles (and consequences thereof) to the performances of the characters (which were better than those in the prequels…and they are animated!) The Clone Wars was–nay, is–superb! My only hope now is that they release a Complete Series box set.

Don’t get me wrong, I am happy they decided to pull the plug at a point in the show where we are left with an ending we can be happy with. Yes, it leaves a lot of unanswered questions, but then again, most of the best stories leave you wanting to know what happens next while giving you the satisfaction of a complete adventure. At least in the cases of Obi-Wan and Anakin, we do know what happens next. Either way, I’m far happier with this ending than that of Firefly or Battlestar Galactica; and one of those actually had and “ending.”

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. My intent was to replicate the “Birth of Vader” scene from Revenge of the Sith and I’m confident that I hit the right notes. Sorry it’s late, by the way but, hey, at least it’s still Monday!

Right?
