This is ripped almost word for word from an actual conversation I read in the General Channel a few nights ago.
I have been playing The Old Republic since its launch and I still love it; the game is fantastic on a great many levels. That said, however, I have had plenty of time to observe a good deal of faults. The largest for me, personally, is centered around player interaction. The Old Republic can swing both ways with player interaction and will either be the best example of players helping one another I’ve seen in any MMO I’ve played…or–by far–the worst. The odd thing here is that the factions you’d expect to maintain these levels are the exact opposite of what really happens.
In my experience, Sith players–be it those who wield the Dark Side or simply those who serve the Empire–are generally very social and often offer to help new players. While the Republic offers little in the way of help and a plethora of fresh colorful expletives involving any given player’s mother. The Jedi containing the largest number of these…interesting people.
And that doesn’t even cover the bacon…
